In a surprise development, actor Trisha on Monday announced that she has decided to walk out of ‘Saamy Square’, starring Vikram in the lead role, citing creative differences with the filmmakers. “Due to creative differences, I have chosen to opt out of ‘Saamy 2’. Wishing the team goodluck,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
Trisha had played the female lead in the first film. It remains to be seen who will replace her in the sequel, that also stars Keerty Suresh as another female lead.
The sequel to 2003 blockbuster began rolling recently. After shooting the first schedule in Chennai, the film is currently being shot in Delhi, said reports. The film will also be shot in Noida, Agra, Jaipur, Nainital and Kathmandu among other places.
The film has a huge star cast, including actors Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh and Soori. And Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music for the film.
‘Saamy Square’, which is directed by Hari, is expected to hit the screens in summer 2018. In the first film, Vikram played a no-nonsense police officer, who doesn’t mind bending the rules so long, it helps him to serve the people without political intervention. Trisha played his wife in the film.

Trisha, meanwhile, is shooting for a romantic flick titled ’96’, in which she has been paired opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The film also marks the directorial debut of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame cameraman Premkumar. She recently wrapped up shooting for her other much-awaited projects, including ‘Garjanai’.
Vikram also has a few exciting upcoming projects, including ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ and ‘Sketch’.
