Suriya starrer NGK was supposed to release this Deepavali alongside Sarkar, but by August, the makers clarified that the film wouldn’t hit the screens around the festival time.
An official statement was also released on Twitter. The buzz was high because both the films had “political themes”.
Much to the surprise of Suriya fans, on Tuesday evening, the producers Dream Warrior Pictures, released a poster featuring the actor looking quite intense.

Directed by Selvaraghavan, NGK marks the comeback of the filmmaker after Irandam Ulagam. Touted to be a political drama, the film has Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi as female leads. Earlier, it was said NGK stands for Nanda Gopalan Kumaran, but we hear it is just the name of Suriya’s character.
The first look poster had him sport shares, a thick beard and a Che Guevara style cap. There are reports suggesting Suriya plays an officer of the National Security Guard. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
Meanwhile, Suriya has KV Anand’s film in the pipeline.
