Kaithi director Lokesh Kanagaraj is likely to team up with Suriya. Sources close to the actor say “talks are already on.” In one of the interviews, Suriya’s brother Karthi, who starred in Kaithi, had hinted the possibility of Kanagaraj directing Suriya.
A reliable source close to the unit says the title had been registered as ‘Irumbu Kai Maayavi’, adding the film is a fantasy entertainer, and will be on the lines of comic superhero Steel Claw. The announcement will be made once Lokesh completes his existing commitments. However, an official word is awaited.
Suriya, on the other hand, is busy with Soorarai Pottru, a biopic of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, and once he completes the shooting of Sudha Kongara-directorial, he will start working on this project.
Currently, Lokesh is camped in New Delhi, and directing Vijay in Thalapathy 64 that has Vijay Sethupathi playing the antagonist.
Earlier, Siva and Suriya were supposed to do a project, but Viswasam director ended up signing a film with Rajinikanth, tentatively titled Thalaivar 168. Additionally, Suriya has an interesting line-up of films, including one with Gautham Menon and Hari, respectively.
