Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju have been busy promoting their upcoming film, Dude. However, a recent incident during the film’s promotional event in Hyderabad has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism toward Pradeep for his alleged inappropriate behavior on stage with co-star Mamitha.

In a video circulating online, the actor can be seen pulling the Premalu star by her hair during the event. However, it was later revealed that the moment was a recreation of a scene from the film. Mamitha can also be seen smiling and joining in the fun.

Several netizens shared in the comments section of the post that the two actors were simply enacting a lighthearted sequence where the hero pulls the heroine’s hair. A user wrote, “This tweet lacks basic common sense. They were asked to recreate a scene from the movie, and the dialogue is from the film too.”

Dude is a coming-of-age drama set against the backdrop of two cousins who run a surprise event management startup. Written and directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, a former associate of filmmaker Sudha Kongara, Dude also stars R. Sarath Kumar, Neha Shetty, Rohini, and Hridhu Haroon.

Dude is slated for a theatrical release on October 17, alongside Dhruv Vikram’s Bison and Harish Kalyan’s Diesel.
