Actor Suriya on Friday unveiled the first look of upcoming film Thambi, which stars his wife Jyotika and brother Karthi in the lead roles. The first look features the mug-shot of Jyotika and Karthi in the backdrop of an estate. The poster has an ominous vibe to it. Of course, it does because the film is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph.
Jeethu has a flair to turn any kind of story into a murder mystery (Drishyam, Aadhi). And he also gets the credit of conceiving a film that allowed the maiden collaboration between Jyotika and Karthi. The film also stars senior actor Sathyaraj.
#Thambi #Donga has been planned for more than a year. Happy with the way it’s shaped up. Thanks to #JeethuJoseph sir for making it a very enjoyable experience & to #SurajSadanah for making it all happen. Hope you guys like it too! #ThambiTeaserFromTomorrow pic.twitter.com/XZao8QDEKx

Meanwhile, Jyothika is currently busy with Pon Magal Vandhal, directed by JJ Frederick, a former assistant of Ahmed. She was last seen in Jackpot, in which she had shared screen space with Revathi.
Karthi is basking in the success of his latest film Kaithi. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film gave the much-needed break to the actor at the box office. Even as it released in lesser number of screens along with Vijay’s Bigil, Kaithi has managed to emerge a winner with theatrical collection of Rs 100 crore worldwide. It is the first film in Karthi’s career to achieve such feat.
