Karthi and filmmakers making their sophomore directorial ventures are a match made in heaven. Close on the heels of making his sixth such film, Meiyazhagan, with 96 director Premkumar, Karthi is set to star in the second movie of actor-filmmaker Tamizh, who made a terrific debut with Vikram Prabhu’s Taanakkaaran. This marks the seventh collaboration between the actor and the production house after Saguni (2012), Kaashmora (2016), Theeran Adhigaram Ondru (2017), Kaithi (2019), Sulthan (2021), and Japan (2023). The makers announced the project with the concept poster of the film, which features a ship sailing through stormy waters. It is said that the movie will have a period setting. Tamizh, who is also known for his terrific performances in films like Jai Bhim and Asuran, is an erstwhile assistant of Vetri Maaran. Here's the post: A new chapter begins with #Karthi29! Apart from these two projects, Karthi is also expected to join hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the much-awaited sequel to Kaithi. Meanwhile, Karthi is awaiting the release of Meiyazhagan, which is expected to hit theatres on September 27. The film will be released alongside a bunch of movies, including Jr NTR’s Devara Part-1, and Vijay Antony’s Hitler.
