The theatrical trailer of Tamil actor Nayanthara’s upcoming film Aramm dropped on Wednesday just a week before its theatrical release. The film revolves around a drought-hit village and a feisty district collector played by Nayanthara.

Aramm seems to be a politically relevant film that throws light on the plight of the farmers and other villagers, whose cry for help doesn’t usually reach the corridors of power. The film shot in the barren lands promises to be a gripping film with realistic performances.

The trailer doesn’t dwell too much on the lead character played by Nayanthara. But, the promo video promises that they will get to see Nayanthara in a never-seen-before role.

Aramm marks Minjur Gopi’s directorial debut. The film also stars Ramesh and Vignesh of Kakka Muttai fame in supporting roles. Aramm is gearing up to release on November 10.

Nayanthara, meanwhile, has a slew of other interesting upcoming films, including Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran. She also plays a lead role in Imaikkaa Nodigal, which marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actor-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Nayan is also playing a lead role im Nivin Pauly’s upcoming film Love, Action, Drama. Besides that, she is also part of big Telugu films, including Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Jai Sima and Chiranjeevi’s period film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
