Gautham Menon seems to be hands full. The director who is awaiting the release of Enai Noki Payum Thota this week, is currently filming Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha. Now, the latest is, he has taken on another project with actor Anushka Shetty in the lead.
The news was confirmed by actor-turned-producer Ishari K Ganesh in an interview with The Hindu. Ganesh, who is the proprietor of the banner Vels Film International, told that Gautham Menon signed a new movie with Anushka Shetty after the producer helped him out with the release of ENPT.
“I have only offered my banner for releasing ENPT. In exchange for my help, I signed Gautham for a new movie. He took the advance, and paid off the dues connected to ENPT,” Ishari K Ganesh was quoted by The Hindu. “The film is a project for which we have signed Anushka (Shetty) to play the lead,” he added in the same interview.
Though the makers haven’t revealed any other details, reports suggest that the movie will be female-centric and will be adapted from the script by Bollywood writer and filmmaker Govind Nihalani. Anushka Shetty has previously worked with Gautham Menon in the hit film, Yennai Arindhaal, which also featured Ajith and Trisha in lead roles.
Meanwhile, apart from ENPT, Gautham Menon also has Chiyaan Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram in the pipeline. ENPT, which is set to release this weekend, stars Dhanush and Megha Akash in lead roles.
