British model-actor Amy Jackson has opted out of Queen remakes that are in the works down south. She was tapped to play a key role that was done by Lisa Haydon in the original Hindi film Queen. However, she said she had to take a pass on the opportunity due to her Hollywood commitments.
“It didn’t work out because of the schedule for Supergirl. It didn’t work out creatively,” Amy told DNA. She also added that she loved Lisa’s character in Hindi and really wanted to be part of the project.
According to the report, she had been in discussion with the director and producer of the project over expanding her role in the film. However, she was not happy with the final outcome and declined despite being offered a huge sum.
Bollywood hit film, Queen, is being remade in all four south Indian languages. Tamil and Kannada versions will be helmed by Ramesh Aravind with Kajal Aggarwal and Parul Yadav respectively in the lead roles. While Telugu will be directed by Manu Kumaran. The Malayalam version which has been titled Zam Zam will have Manjima Mohan as the female protagonist, while the filmmakers are yet to zero down upon the director and other members of cast and crew.
Amy, meanwhile, is living her dreams by bagging meaty roles in Indian cinema and in Hollywood too. She will be seen as Saturn Girl in the superhero TV series, Supergirl. She will be playing an ally of the Supergirl to battle a superior enemy in the series.
