Actor Vivek Oberoi, who is excited to get back to the Yash Raj Films club with his next venture, Bank Chor, will start shooting for the film in September. When quizzed about his role, Oberoi mentioned that he is kicked to play a CBI officer, a role that he hasn’t essayed on screen till date. “Playing a CBI officer is quite unusual and very different from other characters. Currently, I am working with the director Bumpy, to understand the unique layers of my character and make it more interesting. I always study the script and my character in advance to make sure that everything falls into place once we start rolling,” mentioned Oberoi. The actor added that to further enhance the nuances of his character, he is taking inspiration from real-life officers. Interestingly, Oberoi is also looking forward to working with Riteish Deshmukh for the third time, after the Masti franchise films.
Oberoi also added that this is the second time that he will be working with Bumpy, after collaborating for an episode in MTV Stuntmania, where he was seen riding a bike on a moving train in 2009.
Apart from Bank Chor, Oberoi has been in talks with director Sanjay Gupta since a long time and has finally given the nod for his next project, Mumbai Saga. “I haven’t signed the dotted lines and the official formalities should be done in a week’s time. But yes, the kind of character that Gupta has offered me is a cracker of a person. I would like other nuances to be a surprise for the audience,” mentioned Oberoi. In an earlier report, Gupta had confirmed that Oberoi will be seen playing an encounter specialist in the film, which is set in Mumbai of the 80s and 90s.
