Stand-up comedian-turned-actor Vir Das, who had collaborated with Nikhil Advani for a film, will now begin shooting for it by the end of this year. Das will also co-produce the film with Advani, under his banner Weirdass Productions. “I have to lose a lot of weight for the film. So, all the bulk I had put on for Revolver Rani will have to go for Nikhil’s film,” says Das. The film is most likely to be shot in Shimla, and the cast will include two more actors.
Talking of Revolver Rani, he says that it has been extremely challenging for him to play a negative role in the film. “I was a little terrified when I heard the script, because my character, Rohan, is a horrible person. He is dark and selfish, and is willing to use anyone to move ahead in life. So, in the entire film, he is using Kangana Ranaut and vice versa. I’ve trained as a dramatic actor before being a stand-up comedian, so I had to go back to that side of the brain which had almost gone to sleep,” laughs the actor.
Post the release of Revolver Rani, he will begin shooting for 1984, which is based on the Sikh riots. Soha Ali Khan is his co-star. Das also has Sanjay Chhel’s Khanna Patel and Amit Sahni Ki List.
