Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Yaara to take off by June end

Meanwhile he will complete his acting assignments

Director-producer Tigmanshu Dhulia said that his next directorial venture Yaara, earlier titled Bichde Sabhi Bari Bari will take off by the June end. Starring Irrfan, Manoj Bajpayee, Vidyut Jamwal, Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan, the film will show the characters aging from young guns to mature adults, said the film-maker who is back after a recce in Uttarkhand.
“The film will be shot in several locations like Delhi, Georgia, Nepal and Uttarkhand and will be made on a large canvas,” said Dhulia.
Meanwhile Dhulia is busy with his acting assignments. The director, who has earlier acted in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur and Shahid, is presently shooting for Nikhil Advani’s remake of Hero where he is playing leading lady Athiya Shetty’s father, a role played by Shammi Kapoor in the original. He will also be facing the camera for the television serial to be produced by Amitabh Bachchan and directed by Anurag Kashyap. He will be playing a negative character in the show.


Goa to host Suchitra Sen film festival

The Entertainment Society of Goa paid a tribute to legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen by hosting a three-day film festival. The festival that kicked off on April 11 at Maquinez Palace presented the classics of the late doe-eyed beauty including Harano Sur, Bombai Ka Babu, Aatmiyo Swajan, Aandhi, Guerrilla and Lal Tip.
Sen, 82, who was called Bengal’s Greta Garbo, died in Kolkata early this year.
The actress, who began her career with the Bengali film Shesh Kothay in 1952, is known for her role in Bimal Roy’s Devdas (1955) and Aandhi (1975).
This film festival is a tribute to the actress, who, in her career spanning 26 years , acted in 61 films out of which five were in Hindi. — PTI
