Rati Agnihotri’s son, Tanuj Virwani who was seen in Luv U Soniyo and Puraani Jeans has been nurturing his dream of becoming a scriptwriter-director with the help of social media. The actor will soon be releasing a sixty-five minute short film titled The Arkade: Resurrection, starring theatre actor Denzil Smith and himself. The short feature is the concluding chapter in the sci-fi trilogy – The Arkade Series, that Virwani has created. Produced under his own banner Pin Drop Violence, The Arcade Series.
The trilogy’s central theme is man’s relationship with religion and science and is set in the backdrop of Mumbai. Prior to his Bollywood debut, Virwani had assisted the production of 2009’s Aao Wish Karein and the Shahid Kapoor starrer Chance Pe Dance.
“I love story telling and always wanted to make films. To evolve as an actor, it is important to know the technical aspect of film-making. My production experience has helped me to create these short films. They have been specially made for the audience who like to watch action/sci-fi films. Each short in the series is approximately 50 minutes long and can be clubbed into a full length feature film,” says Virwani. According to the actor, the series is not a profit making venture and has only been created to promote the sci-fi genre.
