Famous for making movies that are longer than the usual length, film-maker Ashutosh Gowariker took a potshot at himself while he announced his first television production, Everest.
When the director was quizzed that why he chose TV as the medium to tell the story of an ambitious girl aiming to climb the Mt Everest, he said, “Main aise bhi lambi filmon ke liye jaana jaata hun. If I would have made a film on this topic, it would have been 13-14 hours long.” According to him, he was able to explore many aspects in the tele-series which could not have been possible had he made a film on the subject.
