Post the arrest of the Central Board of Film Certification CEO Rakesh Kumar, there has been a lot of speculation as to who will head the CBFC. Reports suggest that veteran actor Suresh Oberoi is in the running for the Chairperson’s post. When contacted, Oberoi said that he had read the report in the papers and also heard the same from industry insiders that he was being considered for the post, but he had not yet been approached.
“No one has called me or offered me the position. Personally, I don’t think I am fit for that kind of a role. It’s a full time job and when I take up something, I do it seriously. Being a chairperson comes with its own responsibilities and frankly I would prefer to do something which is creative. Besides, I am more into spiritual work now.”
