Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma will be seen sharing screen space once again with Adil Hussain who played his father in the film. They will be seen together in director Prashant Nair’s (who had earlier made independent films like Delhi In a Day and Max And Helena) film Umrika, the script of which was a part of Sundance Scriptwriters Lab in 2012 . Prateik is also part of the film which is based in rural India.
According to a source, Umrika tries to paint a portrait of a fast changing United States of America in the early 1980s through the eyes of a young boy living in rural India. Hussain, who plays a small but significant part in the film, stated that the film follows the dreams and aspirations of the Indian youth. “It unravels the perceptions of reality for different people. It’s an interesting concept and Prashant has handled the subject really well. The film is almost complete, with just a few portions left, which will be wrapped up by the end of this month,” adds Hussain. The post production work of the film will start soon and sources suggest that the film should hit the screens by late 2014. Since the film is made for a global audience, it will include subtitles in English. The film will also have American actor Tony Revolori, of The Grand Budapest Hotel fame, playing an important role.
