Deepti Naval who made her directorial debut with Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish, a film which is yet to release, will soon start shooting for her next directorial venture. Starring B.A. Pass actress Shilpa Shukla, the film will go on floors in August. When prodded about the subject, both Naval and Shukla remained tight-lipped, saying that the announcement will be made soon.
Meanwhile, Naval also mentioned that she has a couple of scripts in mind and is so enamoured by the pictiuresque landscape of Leh-Ladakh that she is contemplating to make a film there. Tentatively titled Colour of Snow, the story will be set in Leh-Ladakh. “But I am still scripting the story and it will be a while before the project takes off,” mentioned Naval at the Leh-Ladakh Film Festival where the film was screened.
Do Paise… a slice-of-life film about a young mother who takes to prostitution in order to fend for herself and her physically challenged son. Rajit Kapur portrays the role of a struggling lyricist. Luck brings them together after which their lives take a similar path. The film is a celebration of life and the human spirit that does not bow down under the vicissitudes of life. It is set to release in India in three months and stars Manisha Koirala and Rajit Kapur in the lead. Sanaj Naval, Naval’s nephew, plays the young child while Gulzar has penned the title song of the film.
