Dinesh Vijan, Saif Ali Khan’s partner and co-owner of Illuminati Films, says that both Saif and he, are still together as partners and will be issuing a joint statement clarifying their so-called split.
“Saif and I are equal partners in Illuminati Films, and we will continue making films under this banner. But yes, we will also make films by ourselves. And that does not mean anything. I have Maddock Films under which I have made Badlapur and Finding Fanny, while Happy Ending is a joint venture and made under Illuminati Films. The film is produced and is being released by both of us,” said Vijan when asked about their reported split.
The Mumbai-based Illuminati Films was founded in 2009 by actor Saif Ali Khan and producer Dinesh Vijan. Their first film together was the Imtiaz Ali-helmed Love Aaj Kal which went on to become a major commercial and critical success. Their second outing was the Sriram Raghavan-directed Agent Vinod which opened to a mixed response. Homi Adajania’s hugely successful Cocktail was the company’s third venture followed by Go Goa Gone and the more recent Lekar Hum Deewana Dil.
