She has received accolades for her performances in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur and Fukrey and now Richa Chadha will show her acting prowess in a short film titled Words With God. Helmed by Mira Nair, the film is a part of a feature film which is a compilation of eight films circled around the message of God. It will premiere at the Venice Film Festival to be held in August, 2014. Put together by some of the best film-makers from across the world, Words With God is based on a concept by Guillermo Arriaga, the director of Babel.
Chadha will be seen as an elite south Bombay girl who marries Rajkummar Rao and tries to fit into her new life as a married woman.
“What attracted me to Words With God was to play a more young and urban character after the desi woman in Gangs Of Wasseypur. And of course, working with Mira Nair was a dream come true,” says Chadha who is very excited about going to Venice for the screening of the film.
Meanwhile the actress has wrapped up the shooting of Main Aur Charles (earlier titled Bad) with Randeep Hooda in which she plays a law student who falls in love with a criminal. There’s also Jia Aur Jia with Kalki Koechlin.
Fukrey 2 on the cards
Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, who helmed the successful Fukrey last year, is now working on a sequel of the film. “There is nothing confirmed as of now, but I am working on a few ideas and if I crack one which is good enough as a sequel then the company (Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani’s Excel Entertainment) will definitely go ahead and make it. Iif not, then I am developing some more ideas. If Fukrey 2 doesn’t work it will be some other subject,” said Lamba.
And if things fall into place then Richa Chadha will be part of the sequel.
