The music of the past era has its own charm that never fails to work. That’s the reason it seems that many want to recreate it for the audience of the contemporary times. The team of Richa Chaddha-Nikhil Dwivedi starrer Tamanchey that will release on October 10 has recreated RD Burman’s famous song from 1983, Pyaar Me Dil Pe Maar De Goli, as the title track of the film. Incidentally, the tagline of the film is also inspired by the song. The new version has been sung by Bappi Lahiri while Krsna has composed the music.
The song was launched amid much fanfare last week at Club Royalty, Bandra at a musical event organised by actor Nikhil Dwivedi with the crew of the film including director Suryaveer Singh Bhullar and others.
To set the tone of the evening, various artistes including Sonu Nigam, Ankit Tiwari, Aakriti Kakkar, percussionist Taufiq Qureshi performed the songs of Burman. While Bappi Lahiri couldn’t be present at the event as he was in Los Angeles, through a video message, he expressed his delight over singing a Panchamda song. The singer was a little conscious in the beginning, but now he hopes that the audiences will like it.
Playing the perfect host at the event, actor Nikhil Dwivedi made sure that everyone is enjoying the evening. “The song carries a lot of legacy. It has five of the most popular names (RD Burman, Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman) attached to it, we just hope we have done justice to the song,” he said as the evening concluded.
