The actor admits that he is inspired by the actress
Though he refuses to comment on his relationship with Deepika Padukone in real life, Ranveer Singh has confirmed that he is playing Deepika Padukone’s husband in Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny. “I have a small cameo in the film as Deepika’s husband,” said Singh.
The actor had mentioned in a recent interview that Deepika was his favourite co-star, so what kind of relationship does he share with her? “Deepika is a great co-star. I am very happy for the kind of year she has had, giving blockbuster hits. I think, she deserves it more than anyone, because I have seen her work hard. She inspires me and I admire her professionalism and talent. She’s a very, very special human being, an over-achiever. So I am very happy for all the awards and appreciation she is getting. She has set an example for others, that hard work always brings in the best results,” said Singh, in a voice full of admiration.
But the actor does not want to talk about his personal space with her. “At the time, before the release of …Ram-leela, my personal life did take precedence over my work and I was not happy about that. I don’t want the same thing to happen during the release of Gunday,” he said.
The actor is also very excited about his next with Shaad Ali’s Kill Dil. “It’s a film you cannot assign a genre to, as it’s very unique. During my struggling days, I would dream of doing a film with Aditya Chopra as my producer and Shaad Ali as director, and it’s surreal how my dream has come true. Also, I get to share screen space with my idol, Govindaji, an actor, who has inspired me to become one myself. Unimaginable!” admits Singh.
