A few months ago, Ram Kapoor had hinted at the ample amount of film projects being offered to him. The actor, who became popular with television shows almost a decade-and-a-half ago, had revealed he would bid adieu to TV soon. Lately, the actor confirmed to us that by the end of this month, he would opt out of his only TV show, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
“This is my last month. I had announced that I would be doing it for three years and three years are over. I don’t know how long the show will continue. Balaji is aware that this will be my last month, because I have three films on hand. Very soon I am leaving for Malaysia for 45 days then I will be travelling for other films. They know that beyond this month I will not be in a position to shoot for them and have agreed to my exit. But plot-wise, I still don’t know how I will exit the show. It’s something that the channel and Balaji will decide,” said Kapoor. Although, Kapoor has no time for television for at least the next one year, he promises that he will never turn away from television.
When we contacted the production house, the Balaji team chooses to be tight-lipped about this entire development. In fact, they are not even ready to confirm that Kapoor has already decided to move on with his film projects. A member from the creative team of the show said, “We haven’t been intimated about any such thing. We are still shooting with Ram and he is quite regular.”
No sequel to Kyunki…
At the beginning of the year, Ekta Kapoor had announced few ambitious projects including a sequel to her much popular, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in which she wanted to rope her original heroine, Smriti Irani.
However, now that Irani is a part of the Prime Minister’s cabinet, the buzz is that the show might not take off. It has probably been shelved for an indefinite period.
