The variety of topics in Marathi cinema has broken the boundaries of language and state. Also, Hindi stars working in Marathi films has become a common phenomenon. Rajpal Yadav is the most recent name to join the pool of actors from Bollywood. An upcoming film titled Dagdabaichi Chal, features Yadav in a comic role. “I wanted to work in a Marathi film for a long time. I can speak the language fluently, as I have stayed here for many years. I love the rural dialects of Marathi. During the shoot, I frequently went to Satara, and fell in love with the language. I have used the Satari tone while speaking,” says Yadav The film is about people who live in chawls, their lives and the humour which is often associated with them. The cast also includes Vishakha Subhedar, Shivani Surve, Sangram Salvi, Sunil Godbole and Mohini Kulkarni. Sunil Waikar has directed the film.


Telugu remake of Aashiqui 2 on August 22

Nee Jathaga Nenundali, the Sachiin Joshi-starrer is set to release on August 22. Nazia Hussain is in the female lead of the Telugu remake of the hit Hindi film Aashiqui 2. Produced by Bandla Ganesh and directed by Jaya Ravindra, it has been extensively shot in Hyderabad. Sachiin Joshi reprises the role of Aditya Roy Kapur while Nazia does for Shraddha Kapoor from the original.
