I’m feeling great that I have been nominated, because we had worked a lot on the sound designing. We went to Benaras to record the original rustic sounds of the place, like the one accompanying the Kumbh Mela sequence. It was quite challenging on an emotional level too. Screen Awards is one of those awards that consider the actual work and the technical details that goes into making a film, rather than just concentrating on glamour. The Jury for Screen Awards is very good, so it’s an honour to be nominated.
— Arun Nambiar, (Raanjhanaa)
It’s fantastic to be nominated., although, I never think of awards when I work on a film. We all—from the actors, director, producers had an awesome time making the film Kai Po Che. It’s satisfying and fulfilling to know that good work is being recognised. Screen is always known for choosing the right kind of films to represent the cinema that we like.
— Baylon Fonseca, (Kai Po Che)
I’m very happy that the work done on the sound of Madras Cafe has been recognised, because, it was a different experience, right from the location sound to the mixing. A lot of detail went to every aspect of sound in the film.
— Nihar Ranjan Samal
The journey on the film was brilliant, because it is always great working with Shoojit Sircar. Madras Cafe was was challenging as it was based on facts. We started working on the film immediately after we heard the subject. It’s the first film in Dolby Atmos Atmos that we’ve mixed in Bollywood, so it feels great to be nominated at the end of it!
— Bishwadeep Chatterjee, (Madras Café)
I thought it was too early for me to expect a nomination. The experience of working on a big film like Dhoom 3 was amazing. There was a big challenge to gel the emotional connect with the action, and yet design the sound in an elegant way. We were expecting Dhoom 3 to be big, but it has gone beyond everyone’s expectations.”
— Ganesh Gangadharan
Dhoom 3 has been doing very well at the box-office, which means people are liking the film. When a nomination like this comes along, especially one that is decided by esteemed jury members, it makes you believe that you’ve done good work. It drives you to do even better.
— Debasish Mishra, (Dhoom 3)
I’m very excited, at being nominated for …Ram-leela. It’s nice to come across someone like Sanjay Leela Bhansali who’s so passionate about his work. He also motivates the the entire team to deliver with the same amount of enthusiasm and passion. We hope to win the award too.
— Parikshit Lalwani
Honestly, I was expecting a nomination for it, but didn’t know it would be so soon. It feels nice to be nominated, more so because I worked with a director who’s so passionate about his job. It was three months of hard work, but the final output was so much fun.
— Kunal Mehta,
(Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ram-leela)
