Qissa, the Irrfan-starrer film is set to release in India on September 26 under PVR Director’s Rare. Directed by Anup Singh and set amidst India’s partition in 1947, the film is about a Sikh attempting a new life for his family. The first film to be shot under the Indian-German co-production treaty, Qissa is an international co-production between India, Germany, Netherlands and France with funding from the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), the Dutch Film Fund, Eurimage and German funds Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and North Rhine Westphalia (NRW).  The film also stars Tillotama Shome, Rasika Duggal and Tisca Chopra in pivotal roles.
