In what is a first, three talented actors, Naseerudin Shah, Paresh Rawal and Annu Kapoor will be coming together for a satirical comedy, Dharam Sankat Mein. The film is an official adaptation of the 2010 British comedy, The Infidel which is about a British Muslim who goes through an identity crisis when he discovers he was born to a Jewish family and was adopted as a child. While Rawal plays the protagonist, Shah and Kapoor play pivotal roles in the film. The Indian version, Dharam Sankat Mein will like the original, deal with various religious idiosyncrasies.
The film that is produced by Viacom 18 will be helmed by first-time director Fuwad Khan, who has earlier worked as a cinematographer for A Wednesday and Murder, is slated to take off after a few weeks in Mumbai. Paresh Rawal who had earlier worked in the satire OMG: Oh My God! said that, “a satirical comedy gives an actor an opportunity to experiment.”
Will Action Jackson be pushed?
The Ajay Devgn-Sonakshi Sinha starrer, Action Jackson has been in the news for quite some time. First because of the title tussle with Warner Bros, and now with reports that the film might get pushed by a few months and release around September, three months after its original release date, June 6. While major portions of the film have already been shot, the last schedule consisting of 10-12 days of shooting remains.
When contacted, producer Gowardhan Tanwani stated that the chances of Action Jackson releasing on its scheduled date looked bleak. “But I can get a clarity after I meet up with Prabhu Dheva and Ajay Devgn. Only if they can work on the film day and night will it be possible to release it on June 6. But the chances look slim,” mentioned Tanwani.
