The release date of Khamoshiyan, a project from the stable of Vishesh Films, has been postponed. Slated to release on January 23, 2015, it will now release on January 30. The reason for the shift is because Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby too is scheduled for release on the same date.
As producer Mahesh Bhatt mentions, “Why would we want to sabotage the business of one another? It is perfectly fine if we can unanimously change the release dates of a film to maximise the business. Yes, we have pushed the film to January 30 to garner more audience.”
A supernatural thriller, Khamoshiyan marks the silver screen debut of television actor Gurmeet Chaudhry and director Karan Darra and stars newcomer Sapna Pabbi and Ali Fazal.
The story revolves around the journey of a young novelist to complete his unfinished book. The film also launched its uncensored theatrical trailer on the social media on December 12, which garnered a huge response from all parts of India.
Bhatt adds, “The analogue space was limited, but today the digital age is booming. Cyber space has given us freedom to express our views. People who consume content are in the virtual world, continuously peeking into the screen of their cell phone. So, we decided to directly place the trailer on the social media and we have relieved great response from all over. This makes us feel that these responses will turn up at the cinema as well.”
Khamoshiyan is being presented by Fox Star Studios.
