It is now confirmed that actress Kajal Aggarwal, whose last Hindi film was Special 26, will star opposite Sharman Joshi in director Ajoy Verma’s Hindi remake of the popular 2006 Iranian film, Cease Fire. The film explores the story of a married couple, who are on the verge of a split and how they fall in love with each other all over again.
Confirming the news, Verma mentioned, “Yes, Kajal has come on board for this project and she will be paired opposite Sharman. Cease Fire was one of the highest grossing films in Iran and is a delightful romantic-comedy, so we thought both the actors will do perfect justice to their roles.” The director added that the film is scheduled to take off in the first week of September and major portions of it will be shot in Delhi. Since the music of the film needs to be contemporary, composer Shantanu Moitra has been signed for it and the lyrics will be penned by Gulzar. The film is slated to release next year and is produced by Prem Raj Joshi. When asked if the title of the film will remain the same, Verma mentioned that they will stick to Cease Fire as of now, but might think of options at a later stage.

While Humshakals is set to release on June 20, director Sajid Khan has signed his next. The shooting for the project with UTV Motion Pictures will start post the release of Humshakals. Khan, who had earlier helmed the Ajay Devgn-starrer Himmatwala for the studio and which did not really do wonders at the box-office, is excited about working with them once again. “Right now, I am only focusing on Humshakals, and after that I shall start work on my next film,” said Khan.
Meanwhile, the trailer of Humshakals was released online as well as in the theatres on April 30. Shot in London and Mauritius, the film stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor in triple roles along with Bipasha Basu, Tamannah Bhatia and Esha Gupta. It is produced by Fox Star Studios and Pooja Entertainment & Films Ltd.
Kriti Sanon in Housefull 3?
Model-turned-actress Kriti Sanon, who will be seen making her debut in the Tiger Shroff-starrer Heropanti may end up bagging a role in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 3. It is reported that Nadiadwala, who is also the producer of Heropanti is impressed with Sanon’s performance and is keen on casting her as one of the leading ladies opposite Riteish Deshmukh in the third installment of the successful Housefull franchise, that will be helmed by writer-duo Sajid-Farhad.
When contacted, Sanon informed, “No one has officially approached me for any project. If anything works out, I will definitely make a formal announcement about the same. Who wouldn’t want to work in such a successful franchise? But right now, all my priorities are focused on Heropanti, since the film is just a month away from its release.” —PA
