Portraying Yudhisthir in Star Plus’ Mahabharat, actor Rohit Bharadwaj, made a huge fan base in the country. However, he realised the wide reach of the show only when he, along with the rest of the cast members, attended an event pertaining to the show in Indonesia and were hugely applauded.
In fact, most of the actors bagged illustrious projects in the country. Bharadwaj was offered to be the judge on Eat Bulaga, a game-variety show. “I shot for a few episodes. Within weeks, the show that was earlier at the sixth position climbed up to the first position. While I wasn’t sure if I should continue with it, the makers insisted that I be a part of it, as it was working in the show’s favour,” shares Bharadwaj, who has come back to India after a two-month stay in Indonesia.
While he started out as a judge in the show, to breakaway from the godly image of Yudhisthir, Bharadwaj tried his hand at comedy. “Since the show is shot with a live audience, I realised, that they are appreciating my comic performance as well. So I will be doing comedy now,” says Bharadwaj, who is returning to Indonesia soon as his contract has been extended by another eight months.
