Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Sugar, spice and everything nice – words that best describe the music of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. The six track album includes two re-created versions of Punjabi numbers, Saturday Saturday by Indeep Bakshi, Badshah and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Samjhawan from Virsa. The high-on-energy party anthem Saturday opens the album, where the singers pack a punch with their enthusiastic vocals. The composition by Sharib and Toshi Sabri, along with Badshah and Titans is all you need to rock the dance floor.
What follows next is a slow and soulful romantic number. Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal come together for the melodious Samjhawan. It strikes a chord in the first hear itself and we personally like the brilliant use of the flute, violins and ghatam. There are portions in the antra where Singh touches high pitch with great ease and we love how Ghoshal has beautifully rendered the second antara. Samjhawan is easily one of the best romantic songs of this year.
The folksy Daingad daingad is a fun number picturised during one of the pre-marriage rituals. It’s a multiple singer track, which has been sung by Divya Kumar, Akriti Kakkar, Pratibha Baghel, Deepali Sathe, Niharika Sinha and Udit Narayan. It tries to mix together funny lyrics with heavy use of dholak, guitar in the song and is strictly average. Another club number, Lucky tu lucky me, which surprisingly gets a rock – n – roll kind of a start, is great. Both the vocalists, Benny Dayal and Anushka Manchanda, do an exceptional job. They add the right amount of spunkiness that the track needs and Sachin – Jigar have perfected the composition with good use of the saxophone, keyboards and interesting electronic beats. Actor Varun Dhawan’s surprise rap is cute. Emotional fool by Toshi is well rendered. The last song, D se dance, is an upbeat number with a nice Punjabi flavour. It’s perfect if you wanna do bhangra with your friends! Singers Vishal Dadlani, Shalmali Kholgade and Manchanda do an impeccable job and the chorus is also good. The Humpty... album is surely a decent package for music lovers, with a couple of good dance numbers and the incredible Samjhawan to keep you entertained.
