Farhan Akhtar debuts in a Marathi film Por Bazaar

In a cameo, he plays himself

After Rohit Shetty, Farah Khan and Anu Malik making special appearances in the Shreyas Talpade’s Marathi hit film Poshter Boyz, the next Bollywood celeb to make a debut in Marathi films is Farhan Akhtar.
The actor-film-maker will be seen in a significant role, though a guest appearance in actor Manava Naik’s debut directorial Por Bazaar which deals with child trafficking. This was confirmed by Manava Naik who had declared at the film’s music launch a couple of week’s back that a ‘superstar of Hindi films will be seen in Por Bazaar’ while not giving out the name at that point of time.
Nanubhai Jaisinghani, who is presenting the film, added that when Farhan heard the story and learnt that the story is on child trafficking, he expressed his eagerness to work in the film. “Farhan plays himself in the film and comes towards the end with a very strong message. He shot for one day at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio and delivered his dialogues in chaste Marathi. He was given the dialogue sheet one day prior and he did a good job of it,” says Jaisinghani.
The film also marks the acting debut of actor-film-maker Mahesh Manjrekar’s son Satya, character actor Atul Parchure’s daughter Sakheel and comedian Manoj Joshi’s son Dharmaj with Sai Tamhankar in the role of a teacher and Ankush Chaudhari in a negative role for the first time ever. The film releases on September 19 all over Maharashtra.
