Eros International and R. Balki team up for Shamitabh
After Cheeni Kum and English Vinglish, Eros International Media Limited has once again teamed up with director R. Balki to produce Shamitabh. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush, it will release worldwide on February 6, 2015.The film has Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s daughter Akshara Haasan making her Bollywood debut. Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, “Shamitabh is an exciting collaboration with Balki whose films feature contemporary themes with strong content and fabulous casting. With this film, we wish to present a heartwarming story that will entertain fans and audiences with an unforgettable experience”.
Eros International and Maddock Films partner for Badlapur
Eros International have partnered with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films for Badlapur which will release on February 20 2015. Starring Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Vinay Pathak, the film is directed by Sriram Raghavan who has helmed thrillers such as Ek Hasina Thi and Johnny Gaddaar. The film marks Eros’ continued association with Dinesh Vijan after collaborating on a range of films like Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Cocktail and Go Goa Gone.
Eros International shakes hands with Viacom18 Motion Pictures
Eros International Media Limited and Viacom18 Motion Pictures announced an international distribution agreement. The deal includes four-films: Mary Kom– directed by Omung Kumar and starring Priyanka Chopra;, Gabbar– directed by Krish starring Akshay Kumar & Shruti Hassan; Golu Pappu– directed by Kabir Sadanand and starring Dimple Kapadia, Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor; and Santa Banta – directed by Akashdeep Sabir and starring Boman Irani and Vir Das. Mary Kom, the first of the films to be distributed internationally under this alliance, will release in over 250 screens on September 5, 2014.
