After directing actor Dharmendra, who makes his debut in the Punjabi film Double Di Trouble, director Smeep Kang has roped in the veteran, to play a “signature role” in the Hindi film titled Second Hand Husband. Govinda’s daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja and Punjabi actor Gippy Grewal make their Bollywood debut with the film that is slated to go on the floors in the second week of September. To be shot in Chandigarh, it is about a Punjabi family.
“Generally we use the word second hand for non-living things, and we have used it as a pun. Although it touches on a serious subject, that of the repercussions of a bad marriage, the subject is treated with a lot of humour and is an out-and-out comedy. We are busy finalising the female lead opposite Dharamji,” said Kang, who is busy with the promotions of Double di... that will release on August 29. Second Hand… is slated to release in the summer of 2015.
