Bollywood celebs turning chat show hosts isn’t a new concept. However, what could be new is when a Bollywood celebrity calls a business tycoon, politician or reformer on the chat show to give a sneak-peek in the lives of people from a cross-section of the society. That is exactly what Anupam Kher wants to do on his chat show Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai on Colors. And that’s why Kher approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the show. However, Modi won in the General Elections, 2014 around the same time and couldn’t make it.
“Probably in the next season we would have him on the show,” says Kher, who is intrigued by the idea that if a chaiwallah can become the Prime Minister then kuch bhi ho sakta hai.
While in the first season Kher has chosen celebrities with mass appeal in order to establish the show, in the second season he hopes to get people from all walks of life who have proved their mettle in their respective fields of work. “I want to bring former president APJ Abdul Kalam Azad, Infosys founder Narayan Murthy among various others,” said Kher.
Quizzed if he has approached any one of them, he said, “Murthy was impressed about the concept of the show when I discussed it with him sometime ago. However, I have to invite him on the show,” he says.
The first season of the chat show kicked off on Sunday with Shah Rukh Khan as the guest. What is striking is that the Khan episode, because of its interesting content, has been stretched to two episodes as the makers did not have a heart to edit the riveting conversation.
The first season of the show will have 12 episodes with guests including Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah, Alia and Mahesh Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Sonam and Arjun Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Yuvraj Singh, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut among others.
