After singing for the internationally acclaimed Slumdog Millionnaire, where her desi number Ringa Ringa became extremely popular, singer Alka Yagnik has collaborated with the Mozart of Madras (A.R.Rahman) once again. This time, the duo have worked together on a song in the Helen Miller – Om Puri starrer The Hundred Foot Journey, which is co-produced by Steven Spielberg. The soundtrack of the film has been completely composed by Rahman and Yagnik was roped in for a soft romantic solo number, which is a part of the film. “Music these days is not sustainable. It might ring in your head for sometime and then go. But this track is very different. It’s a sweet number and working with Rahman is an absolute delight. I am amazed at his extreme humility, simplicity and purity of heart, inspite of being a world famous personality,” stated Yagnik. The singer recorded the number last month.
Kumar Sanu sings for Dum Laga ke Haisha
Singer Kumar Sanu, who was last heard in Bombay Talkies, has crooned two songs for the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dum Lagage Haisha, produced by Yash Raj Films. Interestingly, the actor will also be seen in a brief role playing himself. The singer stated, “Singing for Dum Lagake… was an exciting opportunity. But although I am doing a special appearance in the film, my voice is actually picturised on Ayushmann. Both the songs have been composed by Anu Malik.” Recently, Sanu also crooned a number in Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer Dussera, apart from promoting his recently released Spanish album – Amor, the title track of which is already out.
