The popular franchise Housefull under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, is now set for a third installment. Housefull and Housefull 2 were huge hits, despite being released during the IPL period. The franchise is known for having an ensemble cast, and Housefull 3 will be no different. While, Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh shall once again be a part of the series, Abhishek Bachchan will now join the cast. A source close to the project confirms, “As of now, Akshay, Abhishek and Riteish have been confirmed for the film, the scripting of which is already in progress.” The actresses haven’t been finalised yet. Bachchan and Kumar had last worked together in the 2002 release Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya Hai. Also, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan are still being appreciated for their on-screen camaraderie in Rohan Sippy’s Bluffmaster. Incidentally, all the three actors are known for their comic timing, and are best suited to be a part of this comic caper.
While Housefull and Housefull 2 were directed by Sajid Khan, the third part will be helmed by writers turned directors Sajid-Farhad. They have recently wrapped up their film It’s Entertainment, which also stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. The film was slated to release in May-June, but will now release on August 8. The source revealed that Housefull 3 may go on floors in the last quarter of the year, after It’s Entertainment releases and the actors have finished the projects that they are committed to.
Kumar is busy shooting for Gabbar, with another film Holiday set to release in June. Riteish Deshmukh also has Excel Entertainment’s Bangistan, after Ek Villain, and Abhishek Bachchan is busy with Happy New Year and Umesh Shukla’s All Is Well.

Jacqueline Fernandez in Housefull 3

Housefull 2 starred Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan and Shazahn Padamsee as lead actresses. Now the buzz is that Jacqueline Fernandez, who was opposite John Abraham in Housefull 2, will also be a part of the third installment of the franchise. A source close to the project says, “The makers are in talks, but nothing is finalised as of now, so it’s too early to comment on it.”
Meanwhile, the actress is busy shooting for Kick, also under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner, to be directed by him. Fernandez also has Roy opposite Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor in the pipeline.

Not without Vidya

Mohit Suri’s directorial venture Humari Adhoori Kahani to be produced by Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films alongwith Fox Star Studios, was to have Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. But recently, reports suggested that, Shraddha Kapoor may replace Vidya Balan in the film. Mahesh Bhatt put an end to all these speculations as he tweeted a picture of Balan and wrote, “Humari Adhuri Kahani Vidya Balan ke saath hi poori hogi!” This will be Balan’s third film with Emraan Hashmi after The Dirty Picture and Ghanchakkar.

Ragini Khanna to play Nawazuddin’s wife?

Television actress Ragini Khanna, who was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s Punjabi production Bhaji in Problem, is working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Ghoomketu. Produced by Phantom Films, the project is directed by debutant director Pushpendra Mishra. While Khanna plays Nawazuddin’s love interest in the film, according to a source close to the project, she could actually be playing his wife, and they share a love-hate relationship.
Ghoomketu is an out-and-out comedy and has Nawazuddin playing a struggling writer.
