Abhay Deol who is better known for playing niche and unconventional parts in films like Manorma Six Feet Under, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Dev D, will now be seen doing some serious action in SNAFU, the film he is currently shooting for. Interestingly, Deol who is playing a corporate executive in the film only had a chase sequence in the climax. But when action director Vijan Master came on board, the scene was turned into a hardcore action sequence. The stunt director who has over 480 films to his credit including Wanted and Dabangg, incorporated a few kicks and punches for which Deol had to train for several hours a day, climbing ropes and practising flying kicks and punches before the shoot.
“I have done a little bit of cable work in the past for Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. where I had a flying sequence and then for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. But yes, I have not done such intense action where I was working continously on it for seven days. It is hard work, but I like doing it and am enjoying it. And then I am working with Vijan Master, one of the best,” said Deol.
SNAFU is being helmed by cinematographer turned director Sethu Sriram who has worked as a DOP in Wanted and OMG!Oh My God, and produced by Ameet Gadhoke who has earlier co-produced the yet to release Dusshera. Pooja Gupta plays the lead in the film which is a thriller that explores human nature when confronted with crisis.
