Director Hari announced on Tuesday he will reunite with actor Vikram for the sequel to his 2003 Tamil blockbuster “Saamy”.
“Vikram and I are coming together for ‘Saamy’. We had plans of doing it much earlier but things somehow didn’t fall in place (then),” Hari told reporters here.
He spoke at the audio launch of Vikram’s upcoming Tamil outing “Iru Mugan”.
In “Saamy 2”, Vikram will return as the foul-mouthed police officer and the role was loved by the masses.
Without divulging much information, Hari said that the sequel will go on the floors later this year.
At the audio launch, the trailer of “Iru Mugan” was released and it gave audiences a glimpse of Vikram in dual roles.
As the Tamil trailer of his much-anticipated Iru Mugan was revealed on Tuesday, he again shocked us with his double role. ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram plays a muscled, righteous RAW agent Akhilan. So far, so good for that is what we expect the star to do. And just when we are settling in to watch the 2.37-minute, he reveals his look as a transgender, Love.
Taking the mask off — literally, Vikram plays Love who is the villain of the piece. A cat-and-mouse game is on between the two Vikrams. The film is set in Malaysia where the ‘good’ Vikram is trying to find the man behind Indian Embassy’s bombing in the country. The man responsible is the mad scientist, Love.
The film was stuck for some time after a casting dispute took place, While earlier Kajal Aggarwal and Priya Anand were signed to play the two female leads in the film, they finally opted out. Lot of names were suggested for the two roles till Nayantara and Nithya Menon finally signed on the dotted line.
