Popular Tamil actor Vijay’s father S.A. Chandrasekhar slipped and fell at a resort in Kumarakom on Wednesday and had to immediatelly undergo a surgery at a hospital here.
Chandrasekhar, a popular producer and director, was at the tourist destination of Kumarakom as part of discussion of an upcoming project.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning. Chandrasekhar slipped and fell in a toilet, suffering head and back injuries, hospital sources said.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital here by two assistant directors and the doctors conducted a surgery. The doctors have advised him a week’s rest and said that he is recovering well and there is no need for any concern, the source added.
Filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar has directed almost 70 films in languages namely in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Chandrasekhar, who made his directorial debut with Sattam Oru Iruttarai (1981), has hits like Vetri, Naan Sigappu Manithan, and Mutham to his name. Apart from direction, he has also seen playing the supporting roles in movies like Naan Sivappu Manithan. Most of his movies are with Vijayakanth.
S.A. Chandrasekhar hails from Thangachimadam in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu who is married to a carnatic singer Shoba. Vijay, who has now become one of the biggest superstar in the Southern film industry, made his debut with his father S.A. Chandrasekhar’s directorial Naalaya Theerpu.
