Actress Taapsee Pannu, who is basking in the blockbuster success of Tamil horror-comedy “Kanchana 2”, is all set to don khaki for the first time in her career in upcoming Tamil action-thriller “Kaan”.

“I’m currently doing two Tamil films and they’re diametrically opposite. One is a proper family drama where I play a girl who hails from Kumbakonam, and the other is an action thriller where I play a cop under mission,” Taapsee told IANS.

On May 2, Taapsee also shared on her Twitter page that she plays a character called Tamizhchelvi in director Thiru’s yet-untitled Tamil project featuring Jai. This story is predominantly set in Kumbakonam.

In filmmaker Selvaraghavan’s “Kaan”, Taapsee is paired with Silambarasan aka Simbu. The film also features Catherine Tresa as one of the leads.

“The title ‘Kaan’ means forest and its surrounding area. Important portions will be shot in a forest. Simbu is playing an ardent devotee of Lord Karthikeya in the movie,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
