Actor Sruthi Hariharan shocked the Kannada film industry when she accused actor Arjun Sarja of inappropriately behaving with her on the sets of Vismaya (2016). While some from Sandalwood have expressed solidarity with Sruthi, many have rushed to Arjun’s defense.

On Wednesday, Sruthi posted a six-point clarification on her Twitter handle. She has addressed several questions that are being raised about her allegations against Arjun.

“I decided to come out on my own free will. Unlike many of you respected members of the film industry say/assume, there is no one behind me who pushed/made me do so. Making it crystal clear: Neither is Mr Chetan or Mr Prakash Rai sir, Mrs Kavitha Lankesg ma’am or anyone else making me come out (sic),” read the first point.

Actor Chetan is being accused of supporting Sruthi Hariharan to settle his personal score with Arjun. Speculations were rife that Chetan was removed from Prema Baraha, which marked the screen debut of Arjun’s daughter Aishwarya. And it was being cited as the main motive behind the actor’s support to Sruthi. However, Chetan has denied it.

Prakash Raj also lent support to Sruthi. He even opined that there was nothing wrong in Arjun apologising to Sruthi.

Sruthi Hariharan in her new statement also said that she was prepared to fight what she described as a “long drawn tiring battle.” The actor also added that she won’t give in to the threats of defamation cases and trolling from Arjun’s fans.

The Solo actor also slammed the Kannada Film Chambers of Commerce and its office bearers for taking Arjun’s side. She said film producers Muniratna, Channegowda, Sa Ra Govindu and other senior members of the Kannada film fraternity were being “undignified and misogynistic” while responding to the safety concerns raised by some female artistes.

“I stand my ground and will always be there fighting for what I think is right,” she said.
