Soundarya Rajinikanth joins hands with Kabali producer, announces second film

Filmmaker and younger daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, Soundarya Rajinikanth, has officially announced her second directorial venture. The film, titled Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, a line taken from an evergreen hit song from the 1962 movie Policekaran Magal, will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.

Earlier, speculations were rife that the film will be produced by Dhanush under Wunderbar Films banner, which will also be bankrolling Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith’s second untitled venture. However, now it is clear that V Creations will produce Soundarya’s first non-animated feature film.

Soundarya and Kalaipuli exchanged tweets showing the high level of respect and admiration they have for each other. “Such an honour to be working with you uncle (sic) always need your guidance & blessings !” tweeted Soundarya.

“With the blessings of God and other good people, this project will be very successful. We will give our best to this:),” Kalaipuli responded in a tweet.

Kalaipuli also produced Rajinikanth’s this year’s blockbuster Kabali, which created an all-time worldwide box office record for a Tamil film. Soundarya made her directional debut in 2014 with India’s first motion capture film Kochadaiiyaan, starring her father Rajinikanth in the lead.
