Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda passes away at 64

Surinder Shinda was a popular name in the Punjabi entertainment industry. Besides singing some of the hit Punjabi numbers, he also appeared in a few Punjabi films.

Punjabi singer Surinder Shinda, popular for his songs like Jatt Jeona Morh, Putt Jattan De, and Truck Billiya, passed away on Wednesday. He was 64.

The singer was admitted to the DMC Hospital in Ludhiana and was on a ventilator for the past few days, The Tribune reported.

Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann mourned the demise of the singer on Twitter. The translation of his tweet read, “Very sad to hear the news of eminent singer Surinder Shindaji’s death…the voice of Punjab has gone silent forever…Although Shinda ji is no longer physically, but his voice will always resonate…May God rest the departed soul on his feet and give strength to the family.”

Surinder Shinda was a popular name in the Punjabi entertainment industry. Besides singing some of the hit Punjabi numbers, he also appeared in a few Punjabi films including, Putt Jattan De and Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da.

A couple of days back, Surinder’s son Maninder Shinda had updated about his father’s health in a Facebook live video. He said, “He needed treatment for quite some time and for this, he has been admitted to the hospital.” Rubbishing the rumours, he had said his father was “fine and getting treated.”
