A day after Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal accepted the challenge of Congress leader and his estranged cousin Manpreet Singh Badal to contest against him from Jalalabad constituency, the latter in a U-turn said it was he who will decide his constituency and not Sukhbir. Manpreet, who was accompanied by former Congress MP Vijayinder Singla, made this statement during a meeting with workers in Chief Minster Parkash Singh Badal’s constituency.
“ I will contest from where I feel like. Sukhbir’s acts are like Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, who had troubled the people during his rule. A similar situation is prevailing in Punjab ruled by the SAD-BJP government,” said Manpreet. Targeting the Badals, Manpreet said the whole family is flourishing while Punjab continues to suffer.
Singla too slammed the Badals. “When the Chief Minister will retire from politics he will get a pension of not less than Rs 2 lakh a month while the old age pension of Rs 250 per month for senior citizens of Punjab will still be pending.”
Claiming that Congress will form the next government in the state, the leaders also attacked the Aam Aadmi Party, terming them a bunch of inexperienced people. “AAP had 4 MPs in Lok Sabha polls out of which two are suspended while the other two don’t even know basics of politics. One should not vote for inexperienced people,” they said.
