In what could come as a big relief for fans of Mammootty, the producer of Thoppil Joppan has assured that the film will release in theatres as scheduled. The Ernakulam District Court on Wednesday temporarily stayed the release of the film based on a petition filed by a producer, Shibu Thekkumpuram. He had accused the producer of Thoppil Joppan of copyright infringement.

“I don’t really know anything about Shibu, who lodged a complaint alleging that I have taken money from him. The complete responsibility as a producer lays upon me and how can someone else take the can the credit for it,” said Noushad, according to Manorama Online.
He added that the film will release as scheduled as he believes that the court will quash the case filed by Shibu.
According to reports, Shibu in its petition, has said that the producer sold the copyright of Thoppil Joppan to him for Rs 25 lakh. But he alleged that there was also copyright infringement promoting him to take legal action.
