Vikram-starrer Tamil action-thriller “Iru Mugan”, which released in cinemas worldwide on Thursday, grossed around Rs 10 crore in its first two days in Tamil Nadu.
According to producer Shibu Thameens, the film has registered the second best opening for Vikram after last year’s “Ai”.
In an official statement from the producer, it was said that “Iru Mugan” grossed approximately Rs. 10 crore from two days in Tamil Nadu.
Iru Mugan was simultaneously released in Tamil and a dubbed version in Telugu, titled Inkokkadu.
The movie came out in the USA a day before it was screened in India. According to Tamil movie distributor in America ATMUS Entertainment, the movie earned $948 on its opening day. Interestingly, the movie got a good collection in the dubbed version as compared to the original in Tamil. The film enjoyed good occupancy in the morning and evening shows, which will translate into decent earnings. The final collections will emerge later today.
