After delivering so many hits as an actor, Dhanush has now turned a director. The actor announced his first project as a director, Power Paandi, on Wednesday. The film will have Rajkiran in the lead.

Interestingly, when Dhanush’s father, Kasthuri Raja, made his directorial debut, he chose Rajkiran to be his leading man. History seems to be repeating itself with Dhanush.

Dhanush shared this info on Twitter, “My directorial debut #powerpaandi first look at 9 am today #rajkiran #prasanna #seanroldan #wunderbarfilms.” Times of India quoted a source as saying, “It will be a fun and adventurous film. Prasanna has been roped in to play Rajkiran’s son. He has an offbeat role, too. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.”

Power Paandi’s music will be composed by Sean Roldan. It will have Prasanna and Chaya Singh in important roles but the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. Buzz says that Prasanna will play Rajkiran’s son in the film.

Dhanush is at present shooting for Vada Chennai. He will also be seen in director Gautham Menon’s Ennai Nokki Paayum Thotta.

The actor had earlier announced that his production house will produce superstar Rajinikanth’s next outing after Tamil science-fiction actioner 2.o. “I’m so proud and honoured to announce our production’s next film,” Dhanush wrote on his Twitter page then. The film will be directed by Pa Ranjith, who gave the superhit Kabali this year. Dhanush is married to Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya.

In fact, the film may be a sequel to Kabali.
