Popular Tollywood comedian Sunil is back on the screen with Telugu remake of 2015 superhit Malayalam film, 2 Countries. This will be the fourth project for him this year. Under A N Shakar’s direction and production, the shooting of the film will begin on November 7.
“I liked the Malayalam version of 2 countries when I saw it first and I thought Sunil will be apt for the lead role in the film. This film, which has collected Rs 55 crore, will be a comedy with all emotions. I think only Sunil can do justice to this particular role. The movie will be enjoyable by all the age groups. It is a great script and Sridhar Sreedhar Seepana wrote dialogues for the film,” director Shankar said.
The director also said that 70 per cent of the shooting will take place in America. “The film is about the sensitive relations between two countries. The script will be tinkered a bit to bring the nativity for Telugu audience, however, the original flavour will be retained,” the director added.
The Malayalam version, which was directed by Shafi, featured Dileep, Mamta Mohandas and Isha Talwar playing lead roles. Gopi Sunder, who has provided music for the Malayalam numbers, will score audio for the Telugu version too.
Sunil has made his debut playing lead roles in 2010 with hit film Maryada Ramanna. The actor played a lead character in more than seven movies since then but most of them got little traction at the box office.
