Exactly one year ago, Director SS Rajamouli engrossed everyone with a question, why did Kattappa kill Baahubali.’ The film has completed one year, bagged a National Award yet the question has not been answered.
At a time when Khans of Bollywood were busy scheduling their films for the festive season, Baahubali released in the theatre on a very ordinary day ( a week before Eid) with faces of actors only the South Indian film industry were familiar with. It introduced us to a film so smoothly woven with special effects that most of it seemed real. Those who were familiar with Hollywood probably found subtle similarities with popular television series Game Of Thrones and films like Avatar.
Since then, in various manners, people tried to ask Rajamouli but the director managed to keep the cat inside the bag.
The southern magnum opus was also screened at the prestigious Cannes festival. The actors had to go through immense measures to get the perfect looking physique. Prabash, who played Baahubali Shiva in the film even had to postpone his marriage for the completion of the first part.
“To gain fat, you need to sit around and eat. But I needed to gain muscle, which is a difficult, scientific process. The hardest part is sticking to the routine of a strict diet and vigorous training for months in a disciplined way. He also adds that he finds losing weight easier than bulking up. “I had to just reduce my protein intake for Ghazi so my muscle size and weight dropped,” Rana Daggubati who plays the villain in the film told The Indian Express long time back.
