It is official now. The sequel to 2014 scam movie, Sathuranga Vettai, will have yesteryears heartthrob Arvind Swamy and actress Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The pair will be teaming up for the first time in their long and successful careers in Kollywood.
“Super happy 2b on board #sathurangavettai2 produced by my dear friend @manobalam alongside d multi-talented @thearvindswami #racythriller,” Trisha posted on her Twitter account, confirming the news. Last week, her horror comedy film Nayagi was released, mostly to bad reviews.
Meanwhile, Arvind Swamy’s last Tamil film was last year’s superhit cop film, Thani Oruvan. Earlier this year, the actor also made his debut on television with a popular game show, Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, which is an adaptation of the US game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Sathuranga Vettai 2 will be produced by actor and director Manobala, who recently took to Twitter to confirm the project and its director. The film will be directed by Nirmal Kumar, who had helmed the 2014 thriller Salim with music composer turned actor Vijay Antony in the lead.
Almost every key member who worked on the first film, including cinematography K G Venkatesh and editor Raja Sethupathi, have been retained for the sequel, except for music director Sean Roldan.
The film has Radha Ravi, Nassar, Ponvannan, Sriman among others in the important roles. H Vinoth, who had penned and directed the first installment, will be writing the screenplay for the sequel.
